It is our mission to help each resident reach and maintain their highest level of self-care and independence both physically and mentally.
Gladys was born February 18, 1931 to Elmore and Nora Nelson. She had six brothers and sisters. Growing up during the Depression she learned to cook and bake at a very young age. Baking became a lifelong hobby and career.
Gladys was married April 11, 1950 to Alvin Fladhammer. They worked together as a team on the farm. In the late 60's, Alvin started his own mechanic shop and Gladys helped out by always having hot meals and lunches ready. Family still think that some customers came back just for Gladys' baked goods. She was also a parts runner for Alvin, making many trips to Fosston, Fertile, Mahnomen, and Crookston. After Alvin semi-retired from mechanic work, Gladys worked for Chore Services, helping many elderly with their cleaning, baking, and cooking. Gladys has two sons, three grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Gladys moved to Fair Meadow Nursing Home September 8, 2015.
